Man, taking the bus is great! Sure, I spent 3 hours traveling a total of about 16 miles today, but…I gained so much more. In the morning I had a great chat with a lady who lives around the block. She’s so nice…a friendly city worker. We talked about dogs, our weekends,…just pleasant conversation. After that I had some nice time to myself, reading and grading some papers. I got to work plenty early…even before a lot of those car driving folk. ;)
The way home is a longer trip….about an hour and forty minutes. BUT, there’s more diversity among the riders in the PM. There are moms and dads taking their kids home from school, workers leaving offices, and folks heading out to meet friends for dinner and coffee. PLUS, I had plenty of time for more grading of papers and reading stuff I wanted to read. Oh, and eavesdropping…that’s always good, wholesome fun! A little eavesdropping on the bus…it’s like a REAL reality show!
