Truck packed

28 06 2008

We did it!  The truck is packed.  All we need to do now is load up our trailer and clean all the dust bunnies we found.  Then, it’s explore Alaska time!  We’re trying to stay positive and remain focused on the good that is ahead of us, not of the things we’ll miss here.  Alaska, as I was told when I moved up, gets under your skin.  I didn’t think I’d be as sad about going as I am, but I also am happy about going.  Lana is coping with the move…but she’s probably sadder than I.  This means I hope the good things are more for her in San Diego.  I hope that the opportunity and the experiences that are just around her corner help her feel this is a good decision.  Regardless, though, we’ll have two weeks to explore, kayak, hike, camp…then hit the ferry and visit the Tillamook factory in Oregon, go to a Mariner’s game in Seattle…see Mt. St. Helens!  I’m particularly excited to drive down the coast in Oregon.  We’ll veer that way for a day, then head back to the main drag.  However, all that is contingent upon how much we’re missing Molly and Gracie.  Our babies have been gone only 2 nights and I miss them soooo much!  They’re in excellent hands, I know, but I don’t get my morning Molly kisses or Gracie pets…a bit of an empty space.  *sigh*

For now, though, we are heading off for a beverage to celebrate getting all the heavy stuff loaded and all the stuff packed…no dolly this time, either!  :)  We’re two women who know how to use physics to help move HEAVY stuff effortlessly!  :)

Blog you later!
