This was a lovely first day in Alaska journey….out to the Matanuska Glacier!
24 miles of ice that moves 1 foot per day…which direction, though, we aren’t sure??

Walk the line
18 06 2008Yes, this was the easiest way to traverse this sometimes slippery behemoth of ice, that Matanuska Glacier. This was about an hour’s drive from Palmer…a scenic tour of the mountains, rivers, and trees. So refreshing!

On top of the world!
