Like a Coffee Filter

Yea, people are like coffee filters.  We take in all this stuff, ground up goodness.  We hold onto it all.  It’s bits and pieces of all types of stuff (not like coffee, per se, but sort of like a blend) and…well, other people, experiences, all that stuff trickles over life, over the grounds.  It extracts the flavor of it all and lets it flow on out, creating this rich, delightful synthesis of all those parts in the filter.  We’re left a bit drippy, soggy…sort of worn out, but we made it happen.  Without us, the filter, we couldn’t create the richness, that great, invigorating by-product.  AND, just like a coffee filter, we only get one go at it.  We’re not reusable….not like those gold filters!
